Father's hand
Corrie Ten Boom is a survivor of the Nazi concentration camps. She was able to survive because of the love of her Father. In her book, "In my Father's House," Corrie T. Boom recounts a bed time ritual from her childhood. Every night, her father would come to her room and pray with her before she went to sleep.
"I can remember that he always too time with us, and he would tuck the blankets around my shoulders very carefully, with his own characteristic precision. Then he would put his hand gently on my face and say, "Sleep wee, Corrie... I love you." Corrie T. Boom describes how she would lie very still because she wanted to feel the touch of her father's hand until she fell asleep.
Many years later, in a concentration camp in Germany, she sometimes remembered the feeling of his hand on her face. "When I was lying beside Betsie on a wretched, dirty mattress in that dehumanizing prison, I would say, 'Oh, Lord, let me feel Your hand upon me... may I creep under the shadow of Your wings.' In the midst of that suffering was my heavenly Father's security"
