being humbled

  I have been in the academic field for more than 20 years.  I went through York University in Toronto, McMaster University, Asbury Theological Seminary and currently Emory University Candler School of Theology.  My field of study is Theology but more precisely speaking, it is about church leadership and practical theology.  More and more I learn about God, I realize there is so much I still do not know and it humbles me.  God is bigger than the air that I breathe.  There is no way I will perfectly understand God.  I have seen some people boasting in their academic intellect.  They talk like they have mastered everything.  They say, "I know everything in my field"  hmmm... I feel completely different.  More and more I study about God, it makes me humble because there is still so much more I do not know.  In the great and mighty presence of my God, I humble my self.
